OtrigalAzar alternative: how Azar and Otrigal compare
Azar is one of the big names in video chat apps. Its Google Play listing shows more than 100 million downloads and a 4.0-star rating from about 1.96 million reviews. It is polished, and it has features small services do not. If you are looking for an Azar alternative, it is usually about one of three things: the subscription, the ads, or not wanting to install an app.
This page compares it with Otrigal, a free video and text chat for adults 18 and over that runs in your browser. The facts about Azar come from its Google Play listing, which we read on 6 November 2026. Check it yourself before you decide. The Otrigal team wrote this page, and Otrigal is not connected to Azar or its maker, Hyperconnect.

Where Azar may suit you better
- You talk to people across languages. Live subtitles are a real advantage, and Otrigal does not have them.
- You want an app. Otrigal has none, so Azar is the better fit if you like having an icon on your phone.
- You like choosing. The Lounge and Pick Match let you browse people before a call, which pure random chat cannot do.
- You want to filter by region. Azar offers this on subscription. Otrigal does not offer it at all.
- Size matters to you. A very large service generally has more people online, which helps with matching.
Where Otrigal may suit you better
- You do not want a subscription. Otrigal has no paid plans. "Match with" comes with Premium, and Premium is free when you invite friends or verify your college.
- Your phone is short on space. Otrigal runs in your browser on a phone, tablet or computer, so there is nothing to download.
- You do not want to be browsed. On Otrigal, nobody flips through your photos. You meet one person at a time.
- You want text and video. You can switch to text chat when you do not want to be on camera.
App or browser?
An app can use your phone more fully. It can send notifications, stay logged in smoothly, and often feel a little faster. In exchange it takes up space and you have to find and install it first.
A browser chat is the opposite. It is there the moment you open a link, it works on a shared or work computer too, and removing it just means closing a tab. You do have to allow your camera in the browser, which can trip people up. If it does, our camera fix guide walks you through it.

Which one should you pick?
- Pick Azar if you want an app, live translation, or the option to browse profiles, and you are fine with ads or a subscription.
- Pick Otrigal if you want to chat in a browser with no paid plans, and you are happy to sign in first.
You can also compare OmeTV or CooMeet, or just try random video chat on Otrigal.
